The Design Proses

Taking the client brief is not the only important starting point of any projects. Site visit and studying the site too is very much crucial in developing the content of this project.
​
We study on the existence pro and cons of the coffee shop the S.W.O.T analysis and the design ideas developed through it. From there, we project more then what they think they need while providing solutions in parallel with the client's style, tastes and dreams. Because there is 2 additional spaces that the client wanted to introduce in the shop, The Roster Room and Training Area. Thus we had come out with various plan ideas and tried to see which one works best.

The thought proses of circulation, the current table efficacy, the customers and staff flows. There was a need organization, thus we tried out various circulation together with the space positioning for the new Roastery Room and Training Area.
Then there is also the thought of how to highlight their merchandise, because currently it is everywhere. Giving it more impact to draw the customers eye to what is needed to be seen and focus.





The Roastery
The major concern of renovating was to introduce a new venture for Thursdvys. The client wanted to have a Roasting room for his coffee beans.

Thus the design revolves around getting the most out of the current space layout. The idea was to have the roasting room, beans storage with the office combine.
​
The roasting process itself is what I believe is an art of its own. Precise measurements is needed, the aroma of roasting is also unique and should be experience by coffee lovers. That is why, the area is design, highlighted and technically the sliding door is installed to also create a seamless boundary between customers and the coffee process. Thus customer could SEE and SMELL the technical proses of roasting their coffee while taking a sip.
