THE INTERIOR DESIGN PROCESS

The Interior Design process begins with understanding the client's needs and preferences, followed by conceptualizing ideas and creating mood boards to capture the desired ambiance. Next come space planning, where furniture layout and flow are determined, followed by selecting materials, colors and textures to enhance the space. Implementation involves coordinating contractors, furnishing and overseeing installations. Finally the finishing touches, like accessories and artwork are added to personalize the space and bring the vision to life

INITIAL CONSULTATION

GOALS: Determine Design Brief

During an initial consultation for interior design, we will discuss about your vision, preferences and requirement for the space. This includes understanding the functional needs, aesthetic preferences, budget and timeline. The consultation serves as an opportunity for both parties to align expectations and establish the scope of the project.

The initial consultation will result in a proposal for services as well as a breakdown fees. At this point you'll have the option to either sign the contract as-is or negotiate the particulars to your satisfaction.

Once we have come to agreement, we will document any existing conditions through field studies and gather any relevant architectural data to initiate the first phase of the design process

SCHEMATIC DESIGN PHASE

GOALS: Determine Client criteria for the project

During this phase, we will take the information we've gathered from you during initial consultation and through our field surveys to create two (2) design options for your consideration. We will generally present these options in the form of sketches or 3d so you can visualize the different routes your project could take. The focus is on developing a clear direction and overall aesthetic for the project, which will serve as the foundation for further development in the design process.

Once you have selected a design option that best suits your need, we will begin the process of refining the design during the Design Development phase.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PHASE

GOALS: Refine and Develop Design so most major decisions are made

In the design development phase, the initial concepts from the schematic phase are refined and detailed. This involves fleshing out the chosen design direction with more specific materials, finishes and 3d models are further developed to communicate the design intent.

The goal is to create a comprehensive plan that guides the implementation phase while ensuring that the design aligns with your vision, budget and timeline. We take your budget very seriously and continually strive to provide accurate estimates throughout the early stages of design.

This phase may require additional give and take as we work with you to finalize the details of the design before moving into the next phase.

DOCUMENTATION PHASE

GOALS: Refine and Develop Design so most major decisions are made

During the documentation phase, the detailed plans and specifications are created to guide the construction and implementation of the design. This includes producing technical drawings, such as floor plans, elevations and sections as well as specifying materials, finishes, fixtures and furnishings.

Additionally, schedules and procurement document are prepared to coordinate with contractors and other consultant. Contractors will use these detailed drawings and specifications to prepare for the next phase in the design process.

The documentation phase ensures that all aspects of the design are accurately communicated and executed according to your vision and project requirement

IMPLEMENTATION AND MANAGEMENT PHASE

GOALS: Ensure smooth and successful execution

The plans and specifications developed in earlier stages are put into action. During this phase, we will administer the construction process to assure conformance with design intent, visit the site during construction and address any field conditions as they arise.

FINAL COMPLETION

Final completion is the last step where the project is thoroughly inspected, any remaining touch-ups are addressed and you give the approval. It's the moment when the vision becomes a reality, marking the successful conclusion of the project.
